DR. Willnella Peters

Executive director

Dr. Willnella Patray Peters received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medicine from Saint Augustine's College in 1997 and a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University. After receiving her degree she worked as a Math and Science Lead Teacher at Sparc Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina and later worked as an Assistant Biologist at Bayer Pharmaceutical. 


In 2004 she matriculated in the Doctor of Optometry program at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Peters graduated from Nova Southeastern University with honors in 2009. She is a member of several academic organizations including Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, Gold Key International Honor Society, American Optometric Association, National Optometric Association, Georgia Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association and the College of Optometrist in Vision Development. 


She is also a member of the Fort Lauderdale Lions Club and the Women of F.I.R.E. Dr. Peters is the Executive Director and Founder of H.E.A.L.S (Helping Eyes Against Loss of Sight) a non-profit organization geared towards combating blindness in Liberia and eventually Africa. She has participated in several mission trips to Jamaica, conducted community outreach in Florida and is dedicated to serving. Dr. Peters works in Georgia and specializes in General Optometry.
